WOW!! Thats all i can say about this city!!! thought amsterdam was busy, crazy and big?? Well, Bangkok is the trafic 10 times worse, there is hunderd times more cars and it is A LOt dirtier, But it is amazing to see how everybody lives here and it is nevertheless an awesome city! Monday evening (for us) we arrived at the airport, we were so glad to have feet on the ground again. after 18 hours of traveling we were happy to be at our first destination.! :) And the best thing was that Benya (thai friend) was standing there at the arrival hall. Soooo good to see her again after 2 years, and give her an actual hug instead of a virtual one and at the same time it felt like we seen each other just last week! weird but so good! Benya and her sisiter (May) went to the hostel with us and we were really lucky and glad with them.''We vielen Maandag avond gelijk met onze neus in de Boter'' We went to a temple with them because monday and tuesday it was a Boedism celebrationday. At the temple there was this ritual with Lotus flowers, candles and incense. It was great experience and a really good way to start our trip. :) After the temple we went out to eat in..... CHINA TOWN of Bangkok. Their streetfood is amazingly good!!! we were a little afraid our stomach would be messed up but nevertheless our fear, we just tried all the stuff that benya and her friends ordered for us to try. all of it was delicious.. I already loved Thailand at that moment!! The desert on the otherhand.... i would not recommend that hahah Her friends laughed at me for not liking it but no dont eat it! :P haha
we ended the day at 1 am back at the hostel.. and slept like roses on our comfy beds.. :D

Teusday we joined 2 other dutch travelers, Anne and Floris, Anne is sleeping in the same room and Floris is staying at a different hostel. WE went to see more and more temples! There are so many here!! Gladly we already got used to using the TukTuk.. from day one we started using them, they are so handy you get everywhere for at the most 2 euro's :)
after the royal temple. We wanted to go to the floating market but our TukTuk driver didn't understand us what we meant and dropped us off somewhere at a boatstop, where they told us the floating market is a little out of bangkok... well there went that fun idea.. Next ida, make a boat trip and go to a inside big big market.. well her it comes, when we got on to the boat it started poaring down.. just like that the weather changed from warm and cloudy to rain.. it felt really refreshing though. :P
once we got to the inside market, lots of stores were closed but there was still alot open so we enjoyed and bought soem nice new things. we are getting used to the rules of settling the price for a item... we are getting the hang of it.. haha
At night we wanted to go to THE famous Skybar, a bar high above the busy busy city, BUT they didnt think our newly bought dresses were fashionable enough. Crazy Thai person!
Well we started walking down the long long streets again looking for a bar, but guess what all the bars were closed because of teh boedism celebration day... so we ended up at the hostel. started a movie but didnt like it.. so Floris got his gitar and we had a great night of gitar and singing.. :) Well i just listend but it was still fun!!

Thats live of a backpacker.. plans change all times and i Love it!!No hurry, no worry just have fun and think of what is left to do if one thing doesnt work out. :D

Today (wednesday) we went to Ayutthaya, after 3 hours of sleep we got on the train to see the old capital city of Thailand. Ayutthaya was the capital till it got ruined during the war. Very pretty to see, eventhough there is not much left to see from the whole city.
It was alot of walking but worth it for sure! not everybody apreciated the walking so much, in this warm weather but we have seen lot of local markets, local stores, local schools and a local bandpractice.. i loved it! :)
At the old royal temple some one just shouted out my name.. and there was Vibeke (cousin) we were at the same day at the same place and out of all those people we bumb into eachother.. Really nice to see her before she goes home and we go on with our travel.

Friday we travel to the waterfalls.. which waterfall?? we dont know yet.. that the great thing about backpacking we can decide on the day it self. Hopefully the trains of thailand are not like the NS because today we were the lucky once to be stuck in a train for one hour.. just like NS has sometimes some problems, this train also did.. but the big difference nobody cares here, everybody just keeps sleeping, and nobody is in a hurry or gets mad. The difference also is that they dont announce why we are standing still in the tracks, no need to tell people :P It is funny!

Haven't been here for a really long time yet but seen, done and experience a lot of things already. and yet so much to come! can't wait for whats left to come! :)

Enjoy the sun in the netherlands! We don't need it, we get sun burned when it is cloudy and it is already way to hot.. so please keep the sun. (atleast till we are at the beach. :D )

Love,
Anne
