Good old independence...!

One month independence.... It sounded so long but it is over before you know.
March 7th I left snowy, cold, windy and ALWAYS busy New York and I arrived in a warm (16 degrees) and quiet kansas city. Even though it has been more than a year since I have been here, those roads and expansive plains are all so familiar and make me feel home.
It really is the most bizar feeling, coming home like it was yesterday but knowing it has been more than a year.
After a few days relaxing from the exhausted visit to New York, I was ready to do all those thing I talked about with friends and family for almost 6 months. Going back to high school, going partying, going biking on the new trial, going running with friends, cooking dutch dinners, dress fitting for the wedding, meeting the bridesmaids, sightseeing in kansas city, casino and not to be missed: shopping at the mall ofcourse. I just absolutely loved being back in the daily life of all the friends and family here.
In my second week here I also got the opportunity to intern with my old physical therapist, Leslie. It's was amazing to see and experience how everything is done in an out-patient clinic over here. I experienced it of course 5 years ago when I was treated there, but being there as a graduated physical therapist is a lot different. Amazing! Lots of new ideas and experiences.
Besides all the fun things I did I also took my time to sit back and relax, and trust me that's not hard to accomplish in independence :P haha. I didn't have a car so during work/school hours I didn't really get to go to lots of places unless friends were off work or school. So I read books, laid out in the sun, because when it wasn't snowing it was 18 degrees.. thats one thing I didn't remember: weather is strange over here.!
After one month it's clear that independence is still good old independence.. The town that holds a lot of my memories. Walking the streets, driving the roads, going to school, going to physical therapy, hanging out with friends brings back lots of memories.... not only the good once but also the bad, which made it hard sometimes but gladly I have one wonderful family here that is always there for me. ♡
Now it's time for 7 weeks of even more awesomeness.! time for 17 other states to impress me. :)
Starting with a roadtrip through New England with one of my dutch friends, Marjon. We had weeks, even months, to come up with the idea of a roadtrip.. but no we came up with the idea on the day I left the netherlands. I love our spontaneous action!!!!
